Pendle Hill Quaker Retreat and Conference Center
The Quaker conference and retreat center, Pendle Hill, 338 Plush Mill Rd, Wallingford, PA is our venue for PA conferences. Pendle Hill is 11 miles west of Philadelphia. it is bounded by Route 476 on the east. On the opposite side of Rt 476 is Swarthmore College campus. Pendle Hill is a peaceful, tranquil place which offers home-like lodging and places conducive to introspection, meditative and religious study and for events that include the same, particularly in springtime.
By Car
Take exit 3 (Media, Swarthmore) from route 476 and head west (to Media) on Baltimore Pike (Business Rt 1). Your first left turn will be Turner Road which takes you to Plush Mill Road. Turn left and find the entrance to Pendle Hill on the right side almost all the way back to 476. If you cross the overpass over 476, you have gone too far.
Further directions can be found on Pendle Hill’s website. Please note that preholiday weekend and rush hour traffic can be challenging. Allow at least an extra half hour for your travel over what your mapping tools tell you.
Public Transportation
Pendle Hill is easily accessible by public transportation. Wallingford train station is serviced by SEPTA, Philadelphia’s suburban train line from 30th Street Station. The airport has train service to get you to 30th Street Station. In addition, Taxi cabs and Lyft provide transport from the Philadelphia Airport to Pendle Hill.
The 10 to 15 minute walk from the train station is uphill and lacks sidewalks for parts of the way. To arrange a ride from the train station to Pendle Hill ahead of the conference, please contact the Registration Coordinator at friendsConferenceReg@gmail. com for assistance.
